The Medical Design Excellence Award winning product has recently gained Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) approval, and is currently being launched into the South Korean market. Over one third of the Korean population is currently struggling with vision loss associated with presbyopia, and that is projected to increase to over 42% by the year 2020.
The KAMRA inlay is currently available in select markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and South America. It received CE mark for use in the European Union in 2005 and is an investigational device under IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) in the United States. With 80 percent of refractive procedures occurring outside of the US, the KAMRA inlay is clearly a global business.
Looking into the future, AcuFocus is actively developing additional products, some of which are adjuncts to the KAMRA inlay.
Job Title:
Clinical Applications Specialist
Location: Seoul or Busan, Republic of Korea
Job Purpose:
Expand business in the South Korean market, and oversee clinical training and product implementation.
Job Duties:
• Train surgeons on the use of the KAMRA inlay;
• Staff training;
• Oversee pre- and post-op examinations in clinics new to use of the KAMRA inlay;
• Assist physicians and clinics in selection of patients fitting the profile for use of the KAMRA inlay;
• Support clinic staff in patient conversion to KAMRA from other potential products or procedures;
• Assist staff in marketing the KAMRA Inlay surgical procedure;
• Monitor implant and use outcomes (including data capture, review, analysis and interpretation);
• Evaluate clinical site progress and trouble shoot problems;
• Business development: build relationships with new clinics to convert to use of the KAMRA inlay device;
• Up to 50% travel required, depending on city in which the candidate lives;
• Reports to the Director of Commercialization for the Northern Pacific region.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or equivalent in life sciences
• OD or MD preferred; A Certified Ophthalmic Technician may be considered.
• Clinical research skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Three or more years experience in clinical testing and data analysis
• Korean language fluency
• Basic English language proficiency
• Ability to manage own schedule and work independently
• Initiative to build business and meet clinical needs without direct oversight
• Clinical problem-solving skills
Compensation:
This is a full-time, permanent consulting position with a competitive salary that generously allows the individual to cover expenses normally associated with additional benefits. Significant bonuses and stock options may also be offered.

DESCRIPTION
· Web Search Evaluators work on interesting projects that are geared to improve search engine results for their country. The work generally includes reviewing and evaluating internet search results based on specific search terms and providing a rating. The evaluation work is typically done using online automated tools.
· Web Search Evaluators work 4 hours per day (Monday-Friday) and have the flexibility to choose the hours they wish to work each day. This project requires a commitment to work 20-22 hours per week. Project work is expected to extend through August 17th, 2012, with a possible further extension.
· To qualify to be accepted onto the project, Web Search Evaluators must first complete a rigorous qualification process that requires successfully completing a review of qualification materials and a series of exams. The qualification process may involve up to 25-35 hours of commitment over 1-3 week period.
· Web Search Evaluators accepted onto a project will need to consistently meet service levels measuring the accuracy of their work in order to remain on the project.
REQUIREMENTS
· Personal PC or laptop that runs Windows Vista or Windows 7 (please note, netbook devices, Windows XP and Apple O/S, including Apple O/S running on virtual environments, are not compatible with project), and a minimum screen resolution of 1280 X 768; desired resolution is 1280 X 1024
· A high-speed internet connection (preferably unlimited usage; if limited, download cap must not be less than 100 GB per month)
· Basic aptitude for solving technical/software issues independently
· Detail-oriented and organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage a 20-22 hours per week self- directed work schedule
· In order to apply cultural awareness to the work, youmust be native and current resident of the country for which you are applying to do this work
· Native speaker of the language of the country for which you are applying to do this work
· Proficient in written and verbal English
· Strong communication skills
· Familiar with current cultural, political, business and media affairs, in addition to extensive familiarity with a wide variety of online news sources published in your country
· Avid internet enthusiast with excellent web research and analytical capabilities
